Welcome to the 4th International Conference of the Great Rivers of Africa
Postponement of the 4th International Conference of the Great Rivers of Africa in Cotonou
Date to remember:
- From November 16 to 18 for the conference
- From November 19 to 20 for training
With the context of the evolving global situation with regard to the Covid 19 pandemic, the organizing committee after much reflection was forced to take the decision to postpone by one year therefore from 16 to 18 November 2021 for the conference and from 19 to 20 November 2021 for training.
The health and safety of our attendees is of utmost importance to us and therefore we believe this decision is the best solution for this event.
To this must be added the travel constraints relating to entering and leaving airports and land borders. Indeed, there are among other things the non-authorization of mission orders in certain countries and the unavailability of certain companies to serve certain countries.
The committee also took into account the calendar of international scientific events for which IHP / UNESCO is requested such as, the “ World Water Day in Dakar in May 2021 ”, Colloquium on the Congo Basin in July 2021, ” World large Rivers in Moscous (International Conference on the State and Future of the Great Rivers of the World) (Russia) scheduled for August 2020 and postponed to August 2021 Moscow ” and the ” IAHS International Conference scheduled for July 2021 in Montpellier ”.
In view of all these events, listed above, we regret to inform you that the organizing committee has decided to postpone the actual holding of said conference for next year (from November 16 to 18, 2021 for the conference and from 19 to 20 for training).
Nevertheless, preparations for the 4th Conference of the great rivers of Africa in Cotonou 2021 are continuing. All important dates (submission of abstracts, registrations, technical visits, etc.) will be reviewed and another submission will be made. All submitted abstracts remain accepted and all registrations will be valid for 2021. We also guarantee the postponement of registration and training fees for those who have already paid for the year 2020.
Finally, we would like to thank all participants, authors and colleagues for their support and warm encouragement in this difficult situation.
